Naval, Nipple, Tragus, Ear, Ear Cartilage and Surface Piercings: All new piercings must be cleaned 3-4 times a day with warm water
and a mild, non-perfumed soap. A sea salt solution (1Tsp sea salt
with 5 oz. warm water) should be applied after cleansing. This will
greatly aid in healing. It is a natural disinfectant that can and
should be used as often as possible to reduce redness, irritation
and swelling. The piercing should be submerged in the sea salt for
5 minutes at a time. Clean these piercings at least five times a day for 2 weeks with warm water and non-perfumed soap. A sea salt solution should be applied after cleansing. A Q-tip will be very helpful in cleaning these piercings. Tongue, Lip, Labret, Oral Piercings: All oral contact other than the intake of food and non-alcoholic drink, should be avoided for at least 2 weeks. Smoking is not recommended either. For cleansing, we suggest using an antiseptic mouthwash. Wash out mouth after all meals. |
